Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist residents with daily living activities — bathing, dressing, grooming and toileting — with dignity and respect
• Provide safe transfer and positioning support to keep residents comfortable and secure
• Observe and report physical or behavioral changes to nursing staff promptly
• Support mealtime needs and assist with feeding when necessary
• Maintain clear, timely documentation of care activities and resident interactions
• Follow infection control and safety protocols to protect residents and team members
• Foster a warm, encouraging environment by engaging residents in conversation and activities

Qualifications

• Current Geriatric Nursing Assistant (GNA) certification or state-recognized equivalent
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification preferred or willing to obtain
• Previous experience in long-term care or geriatrics is a plus, but enthusiastic learners are welcome
• Comfort with night shift routines and working independently during overnight hours
• Ability to pass background checks and meet facility onboarding requirements

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• GNA certificate or completion of an approved nursing assistant training program

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong resident-centered care and compassion for older adults
• Basic knowledge of ADLs, transfers and safe patient handling
• Good communication and teamwork skills to collaborate with nurses and staff
• Attention to detail for documentation and observation reporting
• Ability to follow care plans and instructions accurately
