Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, resident-centered care that preserves dignity and independence
• Assist residents with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, and grooming
• Take and record vital signs and report any changes in condition promptly
• Support mobility and fall prevention efforts while encouraging resident participation
• Document care accurately and timely to keep the care team informed
• Collaborate with nurses and interdisciplinary staff to achieve the best outcomes
• Create a warm, engaging atmosphere for residents through meaningful interactions

Qualifications

• Current GNA certification (required)
• Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification preferred or willing to obtain
• Prior experience in long-term care or geriatric settings preferred
• Ability to pass background check, TB screening, and any required health screenings
• Strong communication skills and a patient, compassionate demeanor

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Completion of an approved GNA training program

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in assisting with ADLs and resident transfers
• Knowledge of infection control and safe hygiene practices
• Comfortable taking and recording vital signs and observing clinical changes
• Familiarity with care documentation and charting best practices
• Good teamwork, time management, and the ability to follow care plans
• Patience and skills for working with individuals living with dementia
