Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, patient-centered nursing care on a MedSurg/PCU/Telemetry unit during night shifts
• Perform focused assessments and monitor telemetry to catch changes early
• Lead charge nurse duties when assigned, coordinating patient flow and team assignments
• Administer medications and treatments safely and document care accurately in the EHR
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and execute individualized care plans
• Float to other units as needed, bringing flexibility and a can-do attitude
• Support patients and families with clear communication and compassionate care

Qualifications

• Active RN license in Vermont or eligibility to obtain state licensure
• Current BLS required; ACLS preferred or willing to obtain
• Experience in MedSurg, Progressive Care (PCU), or Telemetry monitoring
• Proven ability to work independently on night shift and perform charge nurse duties
• Comfortable floating to other units and adapting to changing patient acuity
• Strong clinical judgment, clear communication skills, and teamwork mindset

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Telemetry rhythm recognition and cardiac monitoring expertise
• Solid patient assessment and prioritization skills
• Medication administration knowledge, including IV therapies
• Proficient charting in electronic health records
• Ability to de-escalate situations and provide patient-centered education
• Leadership skills for charge nurse responsibilities and team coordination
