Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist residents with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting with respect and dignity
• Monitor and document resident status including observations of behavior and changes in condition
• Take and record vital signs accurately and report concerns to the nursing team
• Provide compassionate, person-centered care that enhances resident comfort and quality of life
• Help maintain a safe, clean environment and follow infection prevention protocols
• Communicate effectively with residents, families, and clinical staff to support coordinated care
• Support mobility and transfers while using safe body mechanics and assistive devices

Qualifications

• Current Geriatric Nursing Assistant (GNA) certification required
• Demonstrated compassion and strong communication skills with older adults
• Comfortable working night shift hours (11:00 PM - 7:00 AM)
• Ability to perform physical tasks associated with resident care and safe transfers
• Willingness to complete facility onboarding requirements (background check, health screenings, etc.)

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; GNA certification required

• Basic clinical skills: taking vitals, observing and reporting changes
• Person-centered care and dignity preservation for elders
• Infection control and safe hygiene practices
• Accurate documentation and time management
• Teamwork and clear communication with interdisciplinary staff
• Ability to follow care plans and verbal/written instructions
