Roles & Responsibilities
- Assess patients across the lifespan — from pediatrics through geriatrics — and prioritize care in a fast-paced ED environment
- Develop and implement individualized nursing care plans based on assessment and clinical judgment
- Provide skilled clinical interventions and treatments in both Emergency Department and Med/Surg settings as needed
- Perform triage, rapid patient evaluation, and escalation when critical care is required
- Document care and clinical decision-making accurately and efficiently using EPIC
- Function independently in Med/Surg practice and adapt to the variety of roles a Critical Access RN wears each shift
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to ensure safe, timely patient flow and quality outcomes
Qualifications
- Active RN licensure (state requirements apply) — RN credential is required
- Demonstrated Emergency Department experience and comfort working night shift
- Experience in Med/Surg and ability to practice independently in Med/Surg settings
- Experience or comfort working in a Critical Access hospital environment
- Proven EPIC charting experience (EPIC required as listed in the posting)
- Experience caring for pediatric through geriatric populations
Knowledge & Skills
- Patient assessment and clinical evaluation across age groups
- Care planning and clinical intervention in ED and Med/Surg settings
- Triage skills and rapid decision-making under pressure
- Independent practice within Med/Surg and emergency workflows
- Proficiency with EPIC electronic health record documentation
- Adaptability to wear multiple hats in a small/critical access facility
