Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate personal care and assistance with activities of daily living
- Support residents with mobility, transfers, and safe ambulation
- Assist with bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting while preserving dignity
- Observe and report changes in residents’ condition to nursing staff promptly
- Accurately document care and resident observations in the facility record
- Help maintain a safe, clean, and comfortable environment for residents
- Collaborate with nurses, therapists, and families to deliver person-centered care
Qualifications
- Valid GNA certification (or equivalent) — Maryland certification preferred
- Current BLS/CPR certification or willingness to obtain upon hire
- Experience in long-term care or geriatrics preferred; new graduates welcomed
- Clear background check and ability to meet facility health requirements
- Strong communication skills and a compassionate, patient-centered approach
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent and completion of a recognized GNA program
Knowledge & Skills
- Understanding of geriatric care principles and resident-centered approaches
- Comfortable assisting with ADLs and basic patient care tasks
- Basic infection control and safety practices knowledge
- Reliable documentation and observation skills
- Ability to work well within an interdisciplinary care team
