Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate personal care and assistance with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting
• Assist residents with mobility and safe transfers while using proper body mechanics
• Monitor and record vital signs and resident condition, reporting any changes to nursing staff promptly
• Document care accurately and timely in resident charts to support continuity of care
• Support mealtime assistance and monitor intake, respecting dietary needs and preferences
• Follow infection control practices and maintain a clean, safe environment for residents
• Build meaningful relationships with residents to promote dignity, comfort, and emotional well-being
• Collaborate with nursing staff and interdisciplinary team members to support individualized care plans

Qualifications

• GNA certification (Geriatric Nursing Assistant) or equivalent state CNA certification required
• Current CPR/BLS certification preferred or obtained upon hire
• Ability to pass background checks and required health screenings, including TB and immunizations
• Comfort working independently on night shifts and communicating effectively with team members
• Compassionate demeanor with patience and strong interpersonal skills
• Previous experience in long-term care or geriatrics is a plus but dedicated new graduates are welcome

Education

• High school diploma or GED required; completion of a GNA/CNA training program required

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of ADLs and basic resident care protocols
• Skill measuring and recording vital signs accurately
• Familiarity with infection prevention and safe handling techniques
• Good observational skills to notice and report changes in condition
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities
• Basic charting and documentation skills
