Roles & Responsibilities

• Evaluate patients and design individualized rehabilitation programs to improve mobility, strength, and function
• Deliver skilled physical therapy treatments and modify plans of care based on patient progress
• Document evaluations, daily treatment notes, progress reports and discharge summaries in the EMR accurately and timely
• Supervise PT Assistants and Aides to ensure high-quality, safe patient care
• Communicate proactively with physicians, co-workers and administrative staff to coordinate care and follow-up
• Perform safe patient transfers, provide gait training and fall-prevention interventions
• Apply correct ICD-10 coding and follow billing procedures for Medicare, workers' comp, private pay and auto claims
• Adhere to HIPAA and OSHA policies and participate in privacy and safety training
• Participate in business development efforts such as marketing and referral building when appropriate

Qualifications

• Active or pending license as a Physical Therapist in the state of California (ability to test soon if not yet licensed)
• Degree in Physical Therapy required
• Comfortable being physically mobile for 8–10 hour clinic days and lifting up to 50 pounds as needed
• Experience with patient evaluation, treatment planning and outpatient rehab programs
• Proficient with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) and basic computer skills (Word, Internet, typing)
• Familiarity with ICD-10 coding and PT billing processes (Medicare, work-comp, private, auto, liens, cash pay)
• Knowledge of HIPAA and OSHA compliance and ability to follow policy
• Experience supervising PT Assistants/Aides preferred
