Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, compassionate nursing care to assigned patients and families
• Perform focused stroke assessments using NIHSS and act on results promptly
• Apply advanced life support interventions as needed (ACLS/PALS/BLS) during emergencies
• Follow Trinity Specialty Specific Competency Testing and complete Trinity Skills Checklist
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation and communicate effectively with the interdisciplinary team
• Participate in required screenings and maintain up-to-date immunizations and health clearances
• Support unit throughput by assisting with admissions, transfers, and discharges when needed

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse (RN) — license/certificate verification required
• Current BLS required; current ACLS and PALS required
• TNCC and NIHSS certifications required or demonstrable competency
• Completion of Trinity Specialty Specific Competency Testing and Trinity Skills Checklist
• Successful Fit Test and Trinity 10-panel drug screen required
• Up-to-date immunizations and health screenings (COVID-19, MMR, Hep B, Influenza, Varicella, 2-step PPD or IGRA, Tdap)
• Current physical/health statement as part of onboarding

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong assessment skills in acute care settings, including stroke recognition (NIHSS)
• Competence in trauma assessment and stabilization (TNCC principles)
• Pediatric life support skills (PALS) and adult resuscitation (ACLS/BLS)
• Ability to follow specialty competency testing and standardized skills checklists
• Clear clinical documentation and effective interdisciplinary communication
• Adherence to infection control practices, fit testing, and occupational health requirements
