Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality, compassionate nursing care to assigned patients and families
- Perform focused stroke assessments using NIHSS and act on results promptly
- Apply advanced life support interventions as needed (ACLS/PALS/BLS) during emergencies
- Follow Trinity Specialty Specific Competency Testing and complete Trinity Skills Checklist
- Maintain accurate, timely documentation and communicate effectively with the interdisciplinary team
- Participate in required screenings and maintain up-to-date immunizations and health clearances
- Support unit throughput by assisting with admissions, transfers, and discharges when needed
Qualifications
- Registered Nurse (RN) — license/certificate verification required
- Current BLS required; current ACLS and PALS required
- TNCC and NIHSS certifications required or demonstrable competency
- Completion of Trinity Specialty Specific Competency Testing and Trinity Skills Checklist
- Successful Fit Test and Trinity 10-panel drug screen required
- Up-to-date immunizations and health screenings (COVID-19, MMR, Hep B, Influenza, Varicella, 2-step PPD or IGRA, Tdap)
- Current physical/health statement as part of onboarding
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong assessment skills in acute care settings, including stroke recognition (NIHSS)
- Competence in trauma assessment and stabilization (TNCC principles)
- Pediatric life support skills (PALS) and adult resuscitation (ACLS/BLS)
- Ability to follow specialty competency testing and standardized skills checklists
- Clear clinical documentation and effective interdisciplinary communication
- Adherence to infection control practices, fit testing, and occupational health requirements
