Contract Type: Travel Contract
Shift Type: Choice of 4x10-hour or 5x8-hour shifts (exact start/end times confirmed at time of offer). Coverage includes emergency procedures with weekend and holiday coverage as needed; schedule is day/rotating based on unit staffing.

Candidate Pay Rate: $74 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Position and immobilize patients on the exam table following established cath lab protocols
- Continuously assess patient hemodynamics and communicate changes to the physician
- Administer and monitor conscious sedation safely and effectively
- Prepare, mix and maintain IV/infusions and bolus medications for procedures
- Assist physicians during interventional cardiac and peripheral procedures
- Interpret EKGs and hemodynamic pressure tracings to guide patient care decisions
- Provide Phase I recovery care and ensure stable handoff to the appropriate team
- Support interdisciplinary collaboration with physicians, radiology techs and cardiovascular technologists to deliver high-quality care
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years current Cath Lab experience required
- 2+ years experience in cardiac diagnostic and interventional procedures required
- Cath and peripheral procedure experience plus STEMI and STEMI call experience required
- Proficiency interpreting EKGs and hemodynamic pressure tracings required
- Conscious sedation experience required; Moderate Sedation Certification highly preferred
- ACLS and BLS required and must be uploaded with profile
- EP experience highly preferred
- Current New York nursing license and New York Temporary Health Care Service Agency registration/license required for travel staffing
- Traveler must have reliable transportation (own vehicle) and strong attendance record
- Profile requirements: up-to-date work history, skills checklist (current within 1 year), and one supervisory signed reference from within the past two years
Education
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license required (New York)
- Associate or Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred but not explicitly required in posting
Knowledge & Skills
- Conscious sedation management and monitoring
- IV and infusion preparation and troubleshooting
- EKG interpretation and recognition of ischemia/STEMI changes
- Hemodynamic monitoring and pressure tracing interpretation
- Assisting interventional cardiac and peripheral procedures
- Phase I recovery processes and patient stabilization
- Familiarity with Epic is a plus as facility is transitioning
- Verbal de-escalation training (Welle or CPI) preferred for patient interactions
