Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide expert bedside care for neonates in a Level 2 NICU, ensuring safety and comfort
• Perform neonatal admissions and initial stabilization in the delivery room with confidence
• Monitor and manage ventilated and feeder-grower infants according to unit protocols
• Collaborate with NNPs and neonatologists for procedures such as umbilical line placement support and intubation assist
• Document patient care accurately using CPN and Meditech EMR systems
• Support families with compassionate communication and education during their NICU stay
• Participate in unit-based standards of care and contribute to a positive team environment

Qualifications

• Current RN license valid for practice in Colorado (compact or state license as required)
• Minimum 2 years of NICU experience (Level 2 NICU experience is required)
• Experience with neonatal admissions and initial stabilization in the delivery room
• Current BLS certification and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification preferred
• Comfort assisting with procedures (umbilical line assist, intubation assist, LP assist, circumcision assist)
• Familiarity with EMR systems CPN and Meditech
• Ability to work independently on night shifts and collaborate with on-site NNPs and on-call neonatologists

Knowledge & Skills

• Neonatal physiology, assessment and advanced infant monitoring
• Neonatal resuscitation principles and resuscitation/transport equipment familiarity
• Experience using Giraffe Omnibeds, Giraffe with Shuttle transport and STAR GE resuscitation equipment
• Care approaches for NAS including Eat Sleep Console experience
• Strong clinical judgment, infection control and safe medication administration
• Clear, compassionate family communication and interdisciplinary teamwork
