Roles & Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive psychological assessments and provide evidence-based interventions
- Develop individualized treatment plans and track patient progress
- Deliver individual and group therapy focused on mental health needs in a correctional setting
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate care and ensure client safety
- Document clinical encounters clearly and timely to meet facility and regulatory standards
- Participate in orientation and training during the initial two-week onboarding period
Qualifications
- Licensed Psychologist (PhD/PsyD) in good standing or equivalent credentials
- Experience working in mental health clinical settings; correctional experience is a plus
- Strong clinical assessment, diagnostic, and therapy skills
- Ability to work on-site at SVSP - Salinas Valley State Prison on the assigned days
- Current professional license or eligibility to obtain licensure for practice in California
Education
- Doctoral degree (PhD or PsyD) for Psychologist role
- Master's degree required for LCSW role (if applying as Licensed Clinical Social Worker)
Knowledge & Skills
- Proficiency in psychological assessment tools and diagnostic formulation
- Skilled in individual and group psychotherapy techniques
- Crisis intervention and risk assessment capabilities
- Excellent clinical documentation and communication skills
- Ability to collaborate effectively with custody and health services staff
