Shift Type: Night shifts, 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM NOC, rotating schedule across the 13-week assignment (specific days scheduled by unit)
Hours per Week: 36
Candidate Pay Rate: $54 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, patient-centered care to laboring patients throughout labor and delivery
- Monitor maternal and fetal status using appropriate assessments and fetal monitoring tools
- Actively participate in deliveries and immediate newborn care in collaboration with the OB team
- Develop and implement individualized nursing care plans and document interventions accurately
- Educate patients and families on labor progress, pain management and postpartum expectations
- Coordinate care across interdisciplinary teams and escalate changes in patient condition promptly
- Support unit readiness by assisting with triage, transfer, and post-partum planning as needed
Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license — Texas state license or valid multistate compact RN licensure recommended
- Minimum 1 year of recent nursing experience (clinical or L&D experience preferred)
- Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required; NRP, ACLS or specialty certifications encouraged
- Familiarity with fetal monitoring and labor support best practices (formal fetal monitoring training preferred)
- Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking, and communication skills
- Ability to pass necessary facility-specific onboarding, background checks and immunization requirements
Education
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN or BSN preferred)
Knowledge & Skills
- Skilled in labor assessment, fetal heart monitoring interpretation and maternal-fetal surveillance
- Comfortable with acute care workflows and rapid clinical decision-making in high-acuity moments
- Proficient at clear documentation and handoff communication within interdisciplinary teams
- Able to provide patient education on labor, delivery and immediate postpartum care
