Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide attentive circulating support during surgical procedures to ensure patient safety and smooth OR flow
• Coordinate instrument and supply setup, anticipating surgeon and team needs to keep cases efficient
• Maintain strict sterile technique and uphold infection prevention standards in the OR
• Manage call responsibilities professionally, responding quickly and calmly when needed
• Communicate clearly with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and perioperative team members to support optimal patient outcomes
• Document perioperative care accurately and timely to support clinical continuity

Qualifications

• Current RN or MT (Medical Technologist) licensure or eligibility for Montana licensure
• Experience functioning as an OR circulator or in perioperative nursing/technical roles preferred
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; ACLS or PALS a plus where applicable
• Comfort working varied 10-hour shifts and participating in a call rotation
• Strong teamwork, communication, and critical thinking skills in fast-paced surgical settings

Education

• Associate degree in Nursing (ADN) or degree/certification in Medical Laboratory/Medical Technology preferred; equivalent clinical experience considered

Knowledge & Skills

• Proven knowledge of sterile technique, surgical instrumentation, and OR workflows
• Skillful at anticipating team needs and managing supplies and equipment efficiently
• Familiarity with perioperative safety practices and patient positioning
• Competent electronic and paper documentation skills for perioperative records
• Ability to remain calm under pressure and adapt to varied schedules and case types
