Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality post-operative and orthopedic rehabilitation interventions as a licensed PTA
• Manage a busy caseload (approximately 60+ visits/week) with professionalism and efficiency
• Deliver 12+ patient visits per day on average while maintaining thorough, timely documentation
• Collaborate with supervising PTs and interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes
• Educate patients and caregivers on home programs, fall prevention, and safe mobility strategies
• Monitor progress, report changes in patient status, and adapt interventions within PTA scope
• Maintain compliance with documentation, billing units aligned to regional norms, and clinic policies

Qualifications

• Licensed or license-eligible Physical Therapist Assistant for Virginia (ability to obtain state licensure required prior to practice)
• Graduation from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program (or equivalent)
• Minimum 1 year clinical experience preferred; new graduates considered
• Current BLS/CPR certification (or willingness to obtain)
• Strong organizational skills to manage high daily visit volume and caseload
• Excellent communication skills and a collaborative, patient-centered approach

Education

• Associate degree (or diploma) from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program
• Graduation/credentialing documentation required for licensure

Knowledge & Skills

• Post-operative care and orthopedic rehabilitation expertise
• Caseload management and efficient patient flow (experience with 12+ visits/day is a plus)
• Skilled in treating conditions such as tendon/ligament injuries, post-op joint care, fractures, and degenerative conditions
• Proficient with documentation standards and regional units-of-service practices (average 4.25 units/visit noted)
• Ability to demonstrate therapeutic exercise, manual techniques, gait training, and patient education
• Comfortable working autonomously within PTA scope and escalating clinical concerns appropriately
