Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, patient-centered care on a telemetry unit
- Continuously monitor cardiac rhythms and respond to changes promptly
- Administer medications and treatments per provider orders and protocols
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to develop and update care plans
- Document assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately
- Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatment plans, and discharge instructions
- Escalate clinical concerns in a timely manner to ensure patient safety
Qualifications
- Active RN license in California (required)
- Telemetry experience or comfort with cardiac monitoring (preferred)
- Current BLS certification; ACLS preferred or able to obtain
- Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
- Ability to work per diem shifts, including occasional short-notice coverage
Education
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
- Completion of basic nursing education and clinical training
Knowledge & Skills
- Telemetry monitoring and interpretation
- Medication administration and documentation best practices
- Familiarity with electronic health record systems
- Patient assessment, triage, and escalation
- Infection control and safety protocols
- Time management and prioritization in a fast-paced setting
