Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate hands-on care to long-term care residents, helping with activities of daily living
• Assist with safe transfers, mobility support, and positioning to keep residents comfortable
• Monitor and record vital signs and resident condition, reporting changes promptly to the care team
• Support the nursing team with treatments, documentation, and following care plans accurately
• Create a warm, respectful environment that preserves resident dignity and fosters trust
• Communicate clearly with residents, families, and colleagues to ensure coordinated, person-centered care

Qualifications

• Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) credential
• Prometric Hawaii certification required prior to the start of the contract
• Ability to work rotating shifts and must be available to work every weekend
• Experience in long-term care settings preferred or demonstrated ability to work with elderly residents
• Strong interpersonal skills, dependability, and a team-first attitude

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent
• CNA certification and completion of required state training
• Prometric Hawaii certification required before contract start

Knowledge & Skills

• Competence in resident ADLs, transfers, and basic mobility assistance
• Basic vital signs measurement and documentation
• Knowledge of infection control and safe patient handling practices
• Clear verbal and written communication skills for accurate handoffs
• Ability to follow care plans and report changes to licensed staff promptly
