Roles & Responsibilities

• Deliver compassionate treatment, care and evaluation for patients with respiratory insufficiencies, asthma, pneumonia and emphysema
• Manage and operate mechanical ventilators (Servo I, Hamilton, V60, Astral) to optimize patient breathing
• Perform arterial blood gas (ABG) analysis and interpret results to guide interventions
• Provide airway clearance therapies including CPT and manage CPAP/BiPAP treatments
• Assess patients, develop and implement individualized respiratory care plans
• Document patient assessments and treatments accurately in Meditech
• Collaborate closely with physicians, nurses and the multidisciplinary team for coordinated patient care
• Respond effectively to codes and emergent respiratory situations with calm, skilled interventions

Qualifications

• Current RRT credential (Registered Respiratory Therapist) required
• BLS, ACLS and NRP certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of recent acute care hospital RRT experience required
• Trauma experience preferred
• Experience with Meditech EMR preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in mechanical ventilation management and troubleshooting
• Proficient with ABG sampling and interpretation
• Experienced with airway clearance techniques (CPT) and noninvasive ventilation (CPAP/BiPAP)
• Strong patient assessment and critical thinking skills in fast-paced settings
• Familiarity with Servo I, Hamilton, V60 and Astral ventilators
• Effective communicator and team player with collaborative physician relationships
