Roles & Responsibilities

• Monitor telemetry and respond promptly to arrhythmias and alarms to keep patients safe
• Provide progressive care to step-down and medical-surgical patients with compassion and clinical skill
• Perform thorough assessments and communicate changes in condition to the care team
• Administer medications and treatments accurately and document in Cerner EMR
• Collaborate with physicians, RNs, CNAs, and ancillary staff to coordinate excellent patient care
• Educate patients and families about care plans, discharge needs, and follow-up
• Support unit flow in a fast-paced environment with quick turnover and efficient handoffs

Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) credentials and active licensure (per facility requirements)
• BLS and ACLS certifications (required)
• Telemetry competency and comfort managing monitored patients
• Minimum 2+ years progressive care or equivalent PCU experience
• Familiarity with Cerner EMR for documentation and order management
• Ability to float to other units and work collaboratively in a team-focused setting

Knowledge & Skills

• Telemetry monitoring and interpretation
• Progressive Care/PCU clinical experience
• Cerner EMR documentation and workflow
• Strong assessment, clinical judgment, and alarm management skills
• Effective communication, teamwork, and patient-centered care
• Experience working with patient ratios around 1:5 to 1:6 (stretch as needed)
