Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide advanced, compassionate respiratory care for NICU and PICU patients using evidenced-based practices
• Manage ventilators and advanced devices (Bunnell 3100A, Servo ventilators, high-flow systems) to optimize respiratory support
• Administer and monitor specialty therapies including Nitric Oxide and Heliox with rigorous safety checks
• Perform thorough patient assessments, develop treatment plans, and adjust therapies based on patient response
• Deliver medication via appropriate delivery systems and operate continuous nebulizers accurately
• Document patient care and treatments clearly and timely in Meditech
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams—physicians, nurses, and other therapists—to coordinate patient-centered care
• Float to adult floors as needed to provide nebulizer therapy, BIPAP, CPT and support department needs

Qualifications

• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential required
• Minimum 2 years of current acute care hospital RRT experience (required)
• Current BLS, NRP, and PALS certifications (must-have)
• Current NICU/PICU experience (advanced skill strongly preferred)
• Experience with Meditech is preferred by the director
• Comfortable working 12-hour night shifts and adaptable to floating when needed
• Team player, critical thinker, and patient-care focused with ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment

Education

• Associate degree in Respiratory Therapy or equivalent preferred
• RRT credential required

Knowledge & Skills

• Ventilator management and advanced ventilator modes
• High Flow Devices and neonatal-specific ventilator experience (Bunnell 3100A, Servo ventilators)
• Continuous nebulizers and medication delivery systems
• Nitric Oxide and Heliox therapy administration and monitoring
• BIPAP administration and airway clearance techniques (CPT)
• Strong patient assessment and treatment planning skills
• Familiarity with Meditech documentation system
