Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, evidence-based nursing care for laboring patients and their families throughout labor, delivery, and immediate postpartum
• Circulate for C-sections and collaborate closely with the surgical team to ensure smooth, safe procedures
• Perform continuous fetal monitoring and interpret tracings to support timely clinical decisions
• Manage inductions, assist with artificial rupture of membranes (AROM), and monitor intrauterine pressure catheters (IUPC)
• Use unit equipment confidently (Alaris and PCA pumps, Monica Novii telemetry, Doppler devices) to optimize patient safety
• Document thoroughly and accurately in CPN Gold and Meditech to maintain continuity of care
• Participate in team nursing to coordinate patient assignments and ensure safe staffing ratios for high-risk patients
• Support unit policies such as oxytocin management and contribute to a culture of safety and quality improvement

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) licensure (state licensure or compact privileges as applicable)
• Minimum 2 years of hands-on Labor and Delivery nursing experience (must-have)
• Demonstrated experience circulating for C-sections (must-have)
• Comfortable managing inductions, IUPC, AROM, fetal monitoring, and Doppler assessments
• Experience with CPN Gold and Meditech EMR systems preferred
• Familiarity with Alaris pumps, PCA pumps, and Monica Novii telemetry is a plus
• Team-oriented, flexible, and able to work collaboratively in a busy L&D unit

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong fetal monitoring interpretation and intrapartum assessment skills
• Proficiency in C-section circulation and operating room collaboration
• Understanding of induction protocols, oxytocin policy, and IUPC management
• Skilled with common L&D equipment: Alaris pumps, PCA pumps, Monica Novii telemetry, Doppler
• Comfortable documenting in CPN Gold and Meditech EMR platforms
• Excellent communication, critical thinking, and crisis management abilities
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a cohesive team-nursing model
