Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess, monitor and stabilize post-anesthesia and ASU patients with confidence and clinical precision
• Coordinate and perform pre-admission testing to ensure patients are prepared for procedures
• Provide patient and family education on post-procedure care and discharge instructions
• Collaborate closely with surgeons, anesthesiologists and the multidisciplinary care team to deliver seamless care
• Respond quickly to clinical changes and escalate concerns to maintain patient safety
• Document assessments, interventions and patient progress accurately in the EHR
• Participate in weekend on-call rotation and support unit staffing needs as required

Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing
• Minimum 2 years of experience in ASU/PACU or Critical Care (required)
• Demonstrated pre-admission testing experience (required)
• BLS, ACLS and PALS certifications (required)
• Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking and communication skills
• Comfortable with weekend call rotation and flexible scheduling

Knowledge & Skills

• In-depth knowledge of PACU/ASU protocols and post-anesthesia care
• Critical care assessment and stabilization skills
• Experience with pre-admission testing workflows and patient prep
• Proficiency with EHR documentation and perioperative charting
• Excellent patient education and discharge planning abilities
• Teamwork, time management and the ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment
