Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality emergency nursing care: triage, assessment, and direct patient care in a fast-paced ER
• Administer medications and intravenous therapies skillfully and safely
• Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care plans
• Document patient status, interventions, and outcomes accurately and promptly
• Collaborate with physicians, nursing staff, and other departments to ensure continuity of care
• Maintain infection control standards and promote patient and staff safety
• Prioritize workload and respond resourcefully and calmly in emergencies
• Participate in orientation, in-service education, and process improvement activities

Qualifications

• Current Iowa RN licensure required
• BLS (Healthcare Provider) required
• ACLS, PALS, and TNCC required
• Mandatory Abuse Reporter Certification required
• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English well
• Comfort working rotating night shifts, weekends, and holidays as scheduled
• Strong communication, critical thinking, and teamwork skills

Education

• Current Registered Nurse licensure in Iowa (RN); additional certifications as listed (BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC)

Knowledge & Skills

• Emergency nursing and triage
• Patient assessment and care planning
• Medication administration and IV therapy
• Accurate clinical documentation and reporting
• Infection control practices
• Effective communication with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams
• Ability to remain calm and resourceful during high-stress situations
• Direct patient care across acuity levels
