Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, hands-on patient care and treatment using sound practical nursing judgment
• Administer medications and treatments safely while monitoring patient responses
• React calmly and effectively during emergencies and support the care team
• Engage patients, families, and caregivers in care coordination and patient education
• Assist with examinations, basic diagnostic procedures, and use of treatment equipment
• Accurately document care, applying basic ICD-10/CPT knowledge where appropriate
• Collaborate with providers and healthcare team members to prioritize patient needs and recommend solutions

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of practical nursing
• Pennsylvania Practical Nurse License (required)
• Current American Heart Association Healthcare Provider BLS certification (renew every 2 years)
• One year of nursing experience preferred
• Strong communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
• Ability to administer a variety of medications and use clinical examination/treatment equipment
• Familiarity with physician office procedures and basic medical terminology

Education

• Graduate of an accredited school of practical nursing

Knowledge & Skills

• Practical nursing principles and hands-on patient care
• Medication administration and monitoring of medication effects
• Patient education techniques and caregiver engagement
• Awareness of common safety hazards and precautions
• Basic ICD-10 and CPT coding guidelines
• Medical terminology and physician office workflows
• Ability to prioritize, analyze problems, and make confident quick decisions
• Calm, effective emergency response skills
