Roles & Responsibilities

• Design and deliver engaging clinical education sessions for NP and PA learners
• Mentor and coach clinicians through hands-on supervision and constructive feedback
• Develop or refine curriculum and teaching materials tailored to local clinical needs
• Assess learner competence and document progress to ensure quality outcomes
• Collaborate with local clinical teams to align education with patient care priorities
• Support clinical workflows and best practices to improve care delivery during the assignment

Qualifications

• Certified Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Certified Physician Assistant (PA)
• Experience or strong interest in clinical education, instruction, or precepting
• Active licensure or eligibility for licensure in Alaska (support available as needed)
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; additional certifications welcomed
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for teaching diverse learners
• Comfort working in community or rural clinical environments and collaborating with local teams

Education

• Master’s degree in Nursing (NP) or Physician Assistant studies preferred, or equivalent clinical experience

Knowledge & Skills

• Adult learning principles and practical clinical teaching techniques
• Curriculum development and assessment of clinical competencies
• Clinical decision-making and evidence-based practice relevant to NP/PA scope
• Cultural competency and sensitivity to Alaska Native and rural community contexts
• Strong organizational skills for planning sessions and documenting learner outcomes
• Ability to engage interprofessional teams and foster collaborative learning
