Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, evidence-based critical care to adult ICU patients
- Closely monitor and interpret hemodynamic data, labs, and ventilator settings
- Administer medications and titrate vasoactive drips with precision and safety
- Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists, and the multidisciplinary team to optimize patient outcomes
- Document patient status and interventions clearly in the electronic health record
- Educate patients and families with empathy and clear communication during stressful times
Qualifications
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license valid in California
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) strongly preferred
- Prior ICU experience preferred — confident in managing ventilators and vasoactive medications
- Strong assessment, critical thinking, and prioritization skills
- Effective communicator who works well in a fast-paced critical care team
Education
- ADN or BSN in Nursing (BSN preferred)
Knowledge & Skills
- Proficiency with hemodynamic monitoring and ventilator management
- Familiarity with common ICU meds, titration, and infusion pump safety
- Comfortable using electronic health record systems for documentation and orders
- Skilled in rapid assessment, triage, and escalation of care
- Ability to provide family-centered communication in high-stress situations
