Roles & Responsibilities

• Lead the Infection Prevention and Control program: develop, implement, and maintain policies aligned with CDC, CMS, OSHA, FDA, and Joint Commission standards
• Collect, analyze, and report HAI data and regulatory reports to NHSN and other agencies
• Design and deliver infection prevention education and training for staff, patients, and communities
• Chair the IPC committee and collaborate with clinical and administrative leaders to integrate IPC best practices
• Perform surveillance, trend analysis, interpretation, and timely reporting of reportable conditions
• Support Employee Health oversight and ensure clinical and manager competency processes are completed
• Travel to regional sites to assess infection prevention practices, provide education, and support implementation

Qualifications

• Current, full, unrestricted RN license in Alaska or another U.S. state required; direct hire applicants must have applied for Alaska license before start
• Bachelor's degree in a healthcare-related field required (nursing, public health, epidemiology, microbiology, or similar)
• Master's degree (MPH, MSN) preferred
• Certification in Infection Control and Prevention (CIC) required
• BLS current within 3 months of hire and maintained biannually
• Minimum 3 years of acute care/infection control experience and/or data collection, performance improvement, or risk management experience

Education

• Bachelor's degree in a healthcare-related field required
• Master's degree (MPH, MSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong working knowledge of epidemiology, infectious disease, and NHSN reporting
• Experience with data collection, analysis, statistics, and reporting
• Proficient in MS Office and database applications
• Ability to translate regulatory requirements into policy and practical staff education
• Excellent communication skills for diverse, multicultural audiences
• Project management and performance improvement experience
• Comfortable working independently and as part of multidisciplinary teams
