Roles & Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive occupational therapy assessments to identify strengths, needs, and goals
• Create individualized treatment plans that promote independence in daily living activities
• Deliver skilled therapeutic interventions using evidence-based OT techniques
• Collaborate closely with nurses, physicians, therapists, and caregivers to coordinate patient-centered care
• Document treatment plans, progress notes, and discharge recommendations accurately in the EMR
• Coach patients and families on adaptive strategies, home modifications, and use of assistive devices
• Support safe discharge planning and community reintegration to maximize long-term outcomes

Qualifications

• Active California Occupational Therapy license (required for practice in CA)
• Current CPR/BLS certification or willingness to obtain prior to start
• Previous experience in occupational therapy settings preferred; adaptable clinicians encouraged to apply
• Valid professional liability coverage as required by facility policies
• Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary teams

Education

• Degree in Occupational Therapy (Bachelor's or Master's as required for state licensure)

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in ADL/IADL assessment and intervention
• Knowledge of adaptive equipment, ergonomic solutions, and mobility aids
• Experience with therapeutic activities, splinting basics, and activity analysis
• Familiarity with documentation standards and electronic medical records
• Excellent clinical reasoning, time management, and patient education skills
