Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostic mammography services including screening, diagnostic exams, specimen radiography and stereotactic breast biopsy with attention to image quality and patient comfort
• Operate CT equipment and assist with interventional procedures, including setup and contrast administration with automatic injector protocols
• Maintain and document departmental quality assurance programs and daily/weekly QC tasks to ensure regulatory compliance
• Maintain accurate patient records, perform required documentation and assist with tele-radiology transmissions
• Provide compassionate, age-appropriate patient care across the lifespan from newborns to geriatric adults
• Support departmental workflow by transferring patients, assisting with invasive procedures, and rotating to other imaging modalities as needed
• Pursue and document required continuing education and maintain modality competency per ACR/FDA and SEARHC requirements

Qualifications

• Current ARRT certification in Radiography (required)
• BLS (American Heart Association) — must obtain within 45 days of start
• Clinical competency assessment per SEARHC — required within 3 months of hire
• Able to perform diagnostic exams relevant to assigned modalities (Mammo, CT, Radiography and ancillary modalities)
• Willingness to cross-train and maintain competency in additional imaging modalities (Ultrasound, MRI, CT, Mammography)
• Ability to take call and report to work promptly when scheduled

Education

• Current ARRT in Radiography (certification required)
• ARDMS credentials accepted/recognized for certain modality roles
• BLS certification (AHA)

Knowledge & Skills

• Mammography techniques, quality control and stereotactic biopsy support
• CT operation, contrast administration and interventional procedure assistance
• Diagnostic radiography and radiation protection principles
• Patient-centered care across all age groups and strong communication skills
• Record maintenance, QA processes and familiarity with tele-radiology
• Sterile technique, venipuncture and automatic injector operation
