Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform high-quality diagnostic ultrasound studies and echo exams with attention to image accuracy and patient comfort
• Ensure patient safety and follow infection control procedures, including TB screening requirements
• Maintain clear, timely documentation of procedures and findings in the medical record
• Collaborate closely with physicians, nurses, and the care team to support patient diagnosis and care plans
• Participate in shared call coverage as scheduled and respond professionally when needed
• Keep equipment clean, calibrated, and report any technical issues promptly
• Support continuous improvement by participating in department meetings and quality initiatives

Qualifications

• ARDMS certification required
• Current BLS certification required
• Proof of negative TB test within 24 months prior to contract start date
• Echo (echocardiography) experience preferred
• Experience in Diagnostic Medical Sonography and familiarity with cardiac and general exams
• Ability to provide compassionate patient care and clear communication

Education

• Completion of an accredited Diagnostic Medical Sonography program or equivalent training
• ARDMS certification (required)

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficient operation of ultrasound systems and image optimization techniques
• Strong knowledge of sonographic anatomy, pathology, and exam protocols
• Familiarity with DICOM/PACS and electronic health record documentation
• Excellent interpersonal skills for patient interaction and multidisciplinary teamwork
• Ability to manage time effectively across a busy schedule and occasional call shifts
