Shift Type: Monday-Thursday, 10-hour day shifts (day shift; exact start/end times vary by facility), plus 10 call shifts required per month

Candidate Pay Rate: $68 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide safe, patient-centered perioperative care across Pre-Op, OR, PACU and GI Lab
- Perform treatments and administer medications in a timely, accurate, and safe manner
- Prepare, interpret and evaluate test data to support intraoperative decision-making
- Serve as the patient advocate in the OR and ensure proper Time Out procedures prior to incision
- Perform and document intraoperative counts for sponges, instruments and sharps per policy
- Maintain accurate intraoperative documentation and specimen handling according to P&P
- Use and model aseptic/sterile technique for all sterile activity in the operative setting
- Assist anesthesia with intubation and extubation as needed to support safe airway management
- Step into the Charge Nurse role when required — coordinate care, support teammates and escalate issues
- Participate in unit committees, contribute to continuous improvement and promote teamwork
Qualifications
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) with a Colorado RN license or a multistate NLC license
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN or BSN)
- 1–2 years OR experience preferred (perioperative experience in circulation, PACU or Pre-Op is a plus)
- American Heart Association certifications: BLS (CPR) required; ACLS and PALS within 6 months of hire
- Current immunization records including COVID vaccine, TB (QuantiFERON within 1 year) and other required vaccines
- Negative 10-panel drug screen within 30 days, criminal background including OIG, and CAPS check per Colorado requirements
- Proof of regulatory (OSHA) training, documented references, resume, and completed skills/competency assessment
Education
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN or BSN)
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong perioperative knowledge: intraoperative counts, sterile technique, time-out procedures
- Proficient intraoperative documentation and specimen handling
- Ability to assist with airway management (intubation/extubation) and support anesthesia
- Medication administration and safe titration principles in the perioperative setting
- Charge nurse skills: coordination, communication, delegation and situational leadership
- Patient advocacy, excellent customer service and teamwork focus
- Comfort working at altitude and adapting to a smaller community hospital environment
