Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide timely, compassionate emergency care for patients ranging from non-critical to life-threatening conditions
• Assess, triage, and prioritize patient needs to ensure safe, efficient flow through the Emergency Department
• Deliver advanced cardiac, trauma, and pediatric emergency interventions according to current protocols
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including physicians, behavioral health, and transport services to coordinate patient care
• Document assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately and professionally
• Participate in quality improvement and unit-based initiatives to enhance patient outcomes and department efficiency
• Maintain readiness for emergency and mass-casualty situations and support a calm environment during high-acuity events

Qualifications

• Current, unencumbered Oregon RN license required upon submission
• Healthcare Provider Level BLS required
• ACLS, TNCC and PALS required
• Verification of high school diploma or equivalent required (CAP moderate complexity testing requirement)
• Comfort and experience caring for cardiac, trauma, and pediatric emergency patients preferred
• Strong assessment, critical thinking, and communication skills in fast-paced settings

Education

• Verification of high school diploma or equivalent (required)
• Current RN licensure (institutional requirement for role)

Knowledge & Skills

• Emergency Department nursing principles and triage practices
• Cardiac care and ACLS protocols
• Trauma assessment and TNCC-guided interventions
• Pediatric emergency care and PALS algorithms
• Ability to manage emergent and urgent behavioral health presentations
• Accurate documentation and moderate complexity testing awareness per CAP guidelines
• Teamwork, adaptability, and calm decision-making under pressure
