Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, hands-on nursing care to residents in a skilled nursing setting
- Administer medications safely and accurately, following facility protocols
- Perform routine assessments and document changes in resident condition
- Support activities of daily living and promote resident dignity and independence
- Collaborate with RNs, therapists, and the interdisciplinary team to implement care plans
- Communicate clearly and kindly with residents and families to keep them informed and comforted
Qualifications
- Current LPN license (Licensed Practical Nurse) in Massachusetts or eligible for state licensure
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required or willingness to obtain
- Current immunizations as required by facility policy
- Previous experience in long-term care or skilled nursing preferred
- Strong interpersonal skills and a patient-first attitude
Education
- Completion of an accredited LPN training program
- High school diploma or equivalent
Knowledge & Skills
- Medication administration and documentation best practices
- Foundations of wound care, infection control, and vital sign monitoring
- Comfortable with electronic health records and routine charting
- Ability to prioritize, multitask, and stay calm under pressure
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
