Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, hands-on nursing care to residents and patients
- Administer medications and treatments accurately and document them promptly
- Monitor resident conditions, record vital signs, and report changes to the clinical team
- Collaborate with nurses, therapists, and care staff to deliver coordinated care plans
- Assist with admissions, discharges, and transitions while ensuring resident comfort
- Educate residents and families on care plans and safety measures in a clear, respectful way
- Maintain a safe, clean environment and adhere to infection control and safety protocols
- Support emergency response procedures and help maintain calm, effective care during incidents
Qualifications
- Active Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license valid in Massachusetts (required)
- Completion of an accredited practical/vocational nursing program
- Current CPR/BLS certification (or willingness to obtain promptly)
- Comfortable administering medications, documenting care, and using clinical judgement
- Strong communication and teamwork skills; resident-focused attitude
- Previous experience in long-term care, rehab, or skilled nursing settings is a plus
Education
- Graduation from an accredited Practical/Vocational Nursing program
- High school diploma or GED
Knowledge & Skills
- Solid knowledge of medication administration and basic nursing procedures
- Proficiency in taking and documenting vital signs and clinical observations
- Familiarity with electronic medical records and accurate charting practices
- Wound care basics, infection control, and safety best practices
- Excellent interpersonal skills for working with residents, families, and teammates
- Time management and prioritization in a fast-paced care setting
