Roles & Responsibilities

• Deliver compassionate, evidence-based MedSurg nursing care to adult patients
• Perform thorough assessments and monitor patient status closely, documenting changes promptly
• Administer medications and IV therapy safely and accurately
• Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and the interdisciplinary team to coordinate patient care
• Educate patients and families about diagnoses, procedures, and discharge planning to support recovery
• Respond effectively to changes in patient condition and participate in unit emergency responses
• Contribute to unit quality improvement and maintain accurate, timely charting

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Texas or compact RN license
• Minimum 1 year of recent MedSurg nursing experience
• Current BLS certification required; ACLS encouraged or required by some units
• Ability to pass facility onboarding, background checks, and standard health screenings
• Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN); BSN preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Solid MedSurg assessment and clinical judgment skills
• Medication administration and IV/infusion management expertise
• Proficient documentation habits and familiarity with electronic health records
• Prioritization, time management, and multi-patient care coordination
• Teamwork mindset and effective verbal/written communication
