Roles & Responsibilities
- Perform high-quality diagnostic echocardiography studies, ensuring excellent image acquisition and patient comfort
- Operate and maintain ultrasound equipment, troubleshoot common issues, and report equipment concerns
- Review images for quality and provide accurate preliminary observations to the clinical team
- Manage patient interactions professionally and compassionately, including patient prep and education
- Maintain detailed patient records and ensure timely documentation of procedures
- Work independently to prioritize and manage caseloads while coordinating with clinicians as needed
- Follow infection control, safety protocols, and departmental policies to protect patients and staff
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance imaging standards and patient outcomes
Qualifications
- Certified ECHO tech (required)
- RVT (Registered Vascular Technologist) preferred
- Ability to work independently and manage a solo workload
- Strong communication skills to collaborate with clinicians and patients
- Willingness to complete facility-specific onboarding and credentialing
Education
- Certification as an ECHO technologist or completion of an accredited cardiac sonography program
Knowledge & Skills
- Proven skill in diagnostic echocardiography and image optimization
- Familiarity with ultrasound machines and routine maintenance
- Attention to detail for accurate imaging and documentation
- Comfort working autonomously in a clinical setting
- Good patient care skills and ability to explain procedures clearly
