Shift Type: Rotating shifts with choice at time of offer: 4x10-hour shifts or 5x8-hour shifts; specific start/end times determined at offer. Includes weekends, nights and off-hours coverage for emergency procedures

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide expert procedural nursing care in the Interventional Radiology lab for adolescent through geriatric patients
- Assess and continuously monitor patients before, during and after procedures to ensure safety and optimal outcomes
- Administer and monitor procedural sedation and manage the recovery phase with vigilance
- Perform and manage vascular access including central lines, ports and hemodialysis catheters
- Assist with nephrostomy, gastrostomy and jejunostomy tube placement and ongoing maintenance
- Carry out paracentesis, thoracentesis and pre/post-biopsy care with attention to detail
- Respond quickly and effectively to emergency and trauma situations as part of a 24/7 coverage team
- Document care accurately in Cerner and McKesson and communicate clearly with the interdisciplinary team
- Float to the Cardiac Cath Lab when required and support related procedures
- Educate patients and families about procedures, recovery expectations and follow-up care
Qualifications
- Current, unrestricted New York State RN license (must be uploaded prior to assignment)
- ACLS and BLS certifications current and uploaded
- COVID-19 vaccination required with proof uploaded
- Previous Interventional Radiology experience — required
- Experience caring for adolescent through geriatric patient populations — required
- Experience with procedural sedation, circulation and recovery phase — required
- Ability and willingness to float to the Cardiac Cath Lab — required
- Previous travel experience highly preferred
- Current profile with work history, skills checklist (within 1 year) and a supervisory signed reference from the past two years
Knowledge & Skills
- Skilled in procedural nursing specific to Interventional Radiology
- Proficient with vascular access techniques including ports, central lines and hemodialysis catheters
- Experienced in nephrostomy, gastrostomy and jejunostomy tube care
- Able to perform paracentesis and thoracentesis safely
- Comfortable managing sedation, pain interventions and the recovery phase
- Strong emergency response and trauma care skills
- Familiarity with Cerner and McKesson electronic medical records
- Excellent communication, teamwork and documentation skills
