Roles & Responsibilities
- Deliver skilled therapeutic interventions under the direction of a licensed PT to help patients regain mobility and independence
- Implement treatment plans, document progress, and communicate changes to the PT and care team
- Teach patients and caregivers safe transfer techniques, home exercise programs, and injury prevention strategies
- Perform gait training and assistive device recommendations to improve functional mobility
- Use therapeutic modalities and adaptive equipment safely and effectively to support recovery
- Collaborate with nurses, physicians, and multidisciplinary staff to ensure coordinated patient care
- Contribute to a positive patient experience by practicing empathy, active listening, and patient-centered care
Qualifications
- Licensed Physical Therapist Assistant in New Hampshire or eligible to obtain NH licensure
- Graduated from an accredited PTA program
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification
- Comfortable with electronic documentation and charting
- Excellent communication skills and a strong team-player mindset
- Previous experience in inpatient, outpatient, or post-acute settings preferred
Education
- Associate degree from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program
- Completion of any state-required clinical competencies
Knowledge & Skills
- Skilled in therapeutic exercise progression and functional mobility training
- Knowledge of common modalities and safe equipment use
- Strong documentation and clinical reasoning skills
- Ability to adapt treatment plans to diverse patient populations
- Good time management and prioritization during busy shifts
- Patient education and motivational coaching skills
