Roles & Responsibilities

• Deliver skilled therapeutic interventions under the direction of a licensed PT to help patients regain mobility and independence
• Implement treatment plans, document progress, and communicate changes to the PT and care team
• Teach patients and caregivers safe transfer techniques, home exercise programs, and injury prevention strategies
• Perform gait training and assistive device recommendations to improve functional mobility
• Use therapeutic modalities and adaptive equipment safely and effectively to support recovery
• Collaborate with nurses, physicians, and multidisciplinary staff to ensure coordinated patient care
• Contribute to a positive patient experience by practicing empathy, active listening, and patient-centered care

Qualifications

• Licensed Physical Therapist Assistant in New Hampshire or eligible to obtain NH licensure
• Graduated from an accredited PTA program
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification
• Comfortable with electronic documentation and charting
• Excellent communication skills and a strong team-player mindset
• Previous experience in inpatient, outpatient, or post-acute settings preferred

Education

• Associate degree from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program
• Completion of any state-required clinical competencies

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in therapeutic exercise progression and functional mobility training
• Knowledge of common modalities and safe equipment use
• Strong documentation and clinical reasoning skills
• Ability to adapt treatment plans to diverse patient populations
• Good time management and prioritization during busy shifts
• Patient education and motivational coaching skills
