Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide skilled occupational therapy focused on stroke rehabilitation and neuro re-education using technology-driven approaches
• Create individualized, goal-oriented treatment plans that help patients regain independence
• Utilize specialty equipment (Bioness, RT300 UE Bike, Diego, XCITE Functional E Stim) to maximize outcomes
• Safely manage patient transfers and mobility using Hoyer, Sara, and ceiling lifts
• Collaborate with nurses, PTs, SLPs, and the interdisciplinary team to coordinate care
• Document evaluations, progress notes, and discharge plans accurately in Meditech Expanse
• Educate patients and families to support carryover and successful transitions home
• Contribute to a positive patient experience by modeling compassion and professional communication

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of clinical experience, with stroke rehab or inpatient rehab experience preferred
• Current, unrestricted Occupational Therapy license for the state of Virginia (or eligible to obtain)
• Comfortable using Meditech Expanse for documentation
• Experience with neuro re-education and technology-assisted rehab tools a strong plus
• Strong patient-handling skills and familiarity with lift systems and safety protocols
• Excellent interpersonal skills and a collaborative mindset for team-based care

Knowledge & Skills

• Stroke rehabilitation techniques and neuro re-education principles
• Hands-on use of Bioness, RT300 UE Bike, Diego, and XCITE Functional E Stim
• Patient handling and safe use of Hoyer, Sara, and ceiling lifts
• Inpatient rehab workflows and interdisciplinary collaboration
