Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, compassionate care for neuro and trauma ICU patients with critical needs
• Manage and monitor patients with ICP monitoring, CRRT and lumbar drains with precision
• Document thoroughly and efficiently using EPIC charting to ensure continuity of care
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans
• Float to Cardiovascular Unit, Telemetry, ICU/CCU or Med-Surg units as patient needs require
• Respond quickly to changes in patient condition and escalate concerns appropriately
• Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatments and recovery expectations
• Mentor and support bedside colleagues to maintain a high standard of trauma critical care

Qualifications

• Current California RN license required
• Minimum 5 years of acute critical care nursing experience
• Level II trauma critical care experience required
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Demonstrated EPIC charting experience
• Experience caring for patients with ICP monitors, CRRT and lumbar drains
• Comfort and ability to float between CVU, Telemetry, ICU/CCU and Med-Surg units
• Strong clinical judgment, communication skills and teamwork mindset

Knowledge & Skills

• Critical care nursing with neuro/trauma specialization
• EPIC electronic health record competency
• CRRT management and troubleshooting
• ICP monitoring and neurocritical care interventions
• Level II trauma protocols and care pathways
• Cardiovascular and telemetry familiarity for float assignments
• Patient/family education and clear clinical documentation
• Ability to work independently on night shift while collaborating with the team
