Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality peri-procedural nursing care for endoscopy patients, from pre-op through recovery
• Monitor patient vital signs and respond promptly to changes using bedside monitors and EKG equipment
• Perform and assist with endoscopic procedures including colonoscopies and ERCPs with precision and compassion
• Document care accurately in the Expanse electronic health record to ensure continuity and safety
• Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to maintain optimal patient ratios (typically 1:1 or 1:2)
• Support unit operations by floating to nearby HCA facilities or pre-op/PACU as needed
• Adhere to unit-specific policies and infection control practices to keep patients and staff safe
• Educate patients and families on procedure expectations and post-procedure care to improve outcomes

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the practice state (or compact RN licensure where applicable)
• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience (as listed); unit notes also state 1 year of endoscopy experience required
• Current ACLS and BLS certifications (required)
• Experience with endoscopic procedural equipment and EKG monitoring
• Familiarity with Expanse documentation system preferred or demonstrated ability to learn quickly
• Comfort with variable schedules, on-call weekends, and occasional floating to nearby units

Education

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN or BSN)
• Active RN license (state-specific or compact as applicable)

Knowledge & Skills

• Proven endoscopy procedural knowledge including colonoscopies and ERCPs
• Skilled in perioperative and procedural nursing workflows (pre-op, procedural room, post-op)
• Proficiency with bedside monitors and basic EKG interpretation
• Strong documentation skills in electronic health records (Expanse)
• Excellent communication and teamwork to support a 1:1 or 1:2 patient ratio
• Ability to follow unit guidelines, safety protocols, and sterile technique consistently
