Roles & Responsibilities
- Perform high-quality MRI examinations following established protocols and safety standards
- Position and prepare patients with care and clear communication to ensure comfort and accuracy
- Operate MRI equipment safely and troubleshoot basic technical issues
- Collaborate with radiologists and the care team to deliver timely diagnostic images
- Maintain accurate patient records and ensure proper image archiving in PACS
- Adhere to MRI safety policies, including screening for contraindications and managing implants
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of MRI technologist experience
- ARRT (R) MRI certification or equivalent registry required or strongly preferred
- Current basic life support (BLS) certification
- Valid state licensure as required by Kansas for radiologic technologists
- Strong patient care skills and the ability to communicate clearly with diverse patients
- Willingness to work evening shift hours and complete a 13-week travel assignment
Education
- Associate degree in Radiologic Technology, MRI, or related field preferred
- Completion of an accredited MRI program or equivalent clinical training
- ARRT (R) registry recommended
Knowledge & Skills
- Solid knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy and MRI imaging protocols
- Proficiency with MRI safety zones and screening procedures
- Familiarity with PACS and electronic medical record systems
- Able to position patients accurately for a variety of MRI studies
- Comfortable with IV contrast administration workflows and safety monitoring
- Good clinical judgment, attention to detail, and strong teamwork skills
