Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, high-quality medical/surgical and GYN nursing care to patients on the Women’s Health Unit
• Perform unit procedures such as bladder challenges and vaginal packing safely and confidently
• Document patient care and progress accurately using Meditech
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to coordinate patient care and improve outcomes
• Deliver bedside shift reports and participate in hourly safety rounds to support patient experience
• Maintain appropriate patient ratios and prioritize care in a fast-paced environment
• Educate patients and families about procedures, recovery, and discharge planning

Qualifications

• Active RN license (per state/facility requirements)
• Minimum 2 years of medical/surgical nursing experience
• Experience or comfort working in GYN/Women’s Health settings preferred
• Familiarity with Meditech or other electronic documentation systems
• Ability to work 12-hour night shifts and the required 4 weekend days
• Certifications required: N/A (facility-specific certifications may be requested); BLS recommended

Education

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN or BSN)

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong medical/surgical nursing fundamentals and GYN clinical knowledge
• Experience with procedures such as bladder challenges and vaginal packing
• Proficient documentation skills in Meditech or similar EHRs
• Excellent assessment, critical thinking, and prioritization skills
• Ability to work effectively in a team and communicate clearly with patients and staff
• Familiarity with patient experience practices like bedside shift report and hourly safety rounds
