Roles & Responsibilities
- Perform high-quality MRI and MRA exams across a range of body parts (all except breast) to support accurate diagnoses
- Operate and troubleshoot GE MRI systems, ensuring safe and efficient imaging
- Provide compassionate patient care and clear instructions to minimize anxiety and motion during scans
- Document exams and patient interactions accurately in Meditech EMR
- Collaborate with radiologists, technologists, and nursing staff to prioritize patient needs and flow
- Adhere to safety protocols and unit guidelines, including infection control and dress code (black scrubs required)
- Help maintain equipment and communicate maintenance needs to keep the unit running smoothly
Qualifications
- MRI registered (required) — candidates without MRI registration will not be considered
- Minimum 2 years of MRI experience (per job posting experience requirement)
- Experience with GE MRI equipment preferred
- Familiarity with Meditech EMR is a plus
- Level 1 trauma experience and/or critical care experience preferred
Education
- MRI registration (MRI registered) — required
- Formal MRI technologist training or equivalent clinical experience
Knowledge & Skills
- Proven skill performing MRI and MRA procedures across multiple body parts
- Comfortable operating GE MRI platforms (including newer Artist machines)
- Solid documentation skills using Meditech or similar EMR systems
- Strong patient positioning, safety, and screening practices
- Ability to work well in a busy, team-oriented MRI department
- Good communication skills for patient interactions and interdisciplinary collaboration
