Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, evidence-based respiratory care to critical and non-critical patients across all ages during the night shift
- Manage and troubleshoot ventilators and advanced cardiopulmonary equipment to keep patients stable
- Perform and interpret diagnostic procedures such as arterial blood gases and respiratory assessments
- Administer respiratory therapies and emergency interventions in accordance with protocols and provider orders
- Collaborate closely with nurses, physicians, and the multidisciplinary team to coordinate patient care and safe handoffs
- Document patient care clearly and timely in the medical record to support continuity of care
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and help maintain department standards and safety practices
Qualifications
- Current NBRC-RRT registration required upon submission
- Current Oregon Respiratory Care License required upon submission
- Healthcare Provider BLS required
- ACLS, NRP and PALS required
- Two (2) years clinical experience in Respiratory Care preferred
- Comfortable working nights and managing acute respiratory needs independently
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong knowledge of cardiopulmonary anatomy, physiology and evidence-based respiratory interventions
- Experienced in ventilator management, airway management, and non-invasive ventilation
- Skilled in performing and interpreting arterial blood gases and other respiratory diagnostics
- Excellent critical thinking and rapid decision-making in acute care situations
- Clear communication and teamwork for effective night shift collaboration
- Accurate clinical documentation and familiarity with hospital workflows
