Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess and monitor Med/Surg patients overnight, recognizing changes in condition early and acting decisively
• Administer medications, IV therapies, and treatments safely and in line with facility protocols
• Document care clearly and promptly in the electronic health record
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to coordinate patient care and safe transitions
• Provide compassionate patient and family education during the night hours
• Respond to emergencies and assist with rapid interventions as needed
• Maintain infection control standards and ensure required screenings (e.g., TB) are up to date

Qualifications

• Active California RN license (required)
• BLS required
• ACLS required
• Med/Surg clinical experience (comfortable managing medical-surgical patient populations on nights)
• Proof of a negative TB screen within 12 months of contract start (required)
• Willingness to work night shifts (recruiters: do not submit candidates unwilling to work nights)

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong patient assessment and clinical decision-making skills
• Proficient with medication and IV administration
• Solid documentation skills in an electronic health record
• Ability to prioritize and manage workload during a busy night shift
• Excellent communication and teamwork with nursing staff, providers, and support services
• Familiarity with Med/Surg protocols, safety practices, and bedside troubleshooting
