Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess and manage critically ill patients in the ICU and rapid response settings with clinical precision
• Monitor cardiac rhythms, ventilator parameters, and neuro status to catch changes early
• Respond swiftly as part of the rapid response team to stabilize patients and support positive outcomes
• Administer medications and manage complex infusions and IV pump therapies safely
• Operate and troubleshoot specialty equipment such as ventilators, continuous EEG, EVDs and Arctic Sun
• Document thoroughly in the Meditech EMR to ensure clear, accurate patient records
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including physicians, respiratory therapy and support staff
• Provide compassionate education and support to patients and families during critical moments

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (Colorado license or current compact state licensure acceptable)
• Current ACLS and BLS certifications (required)
• NIHSS certification (required)
• Clinical experience in ICU/critical care and rapid response environments
• Comfortable with cardiac monitoring and ventilator management
• Familiarity with Meditech EMR preferred
• Ability to work 12-hour night shifts and function in a fast-paced critical care unit

Education

• Active RN license required; ADN or BSN in Nursing preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong critical care assessment and prioritization skills
• Ventilator management and weaning fundamentals
• Cardiac rhythm interpretation and cardiac monitoring expertise
• Experience with IV pumps, tube feed pumps, EVD/LD/Bold management and continuous EEG
• Neurological monitoring familiarity (NIHSS, lumbar drains, Licox)
• Comfort using Arctic Sun cooling systems and other advanced devices
• Clear, timely clinical documentation and effective interdisciplinary communication
