Roles & Responsibilities

Provide direct, hands-on critical care and advanced monitoring for medical/surgical inpatients from admission through discharge
Operate and manage advanced medical equipment including ventilators, central lines (A-lines), invasive lines, chest tubes, and multiple IV pumps
Perform thorough patient assessments and implement established care plans with minimal supervision
Lead clinically on the unit: give direction to RNs, LPNs, CNAs and ancillary staff and collaborate with providers and nurse leadership
Precept and mentor new staff, helping build a confident, competent care team
Coordinate discharge planning to ensure safe transitions and continuity of care

Qualifications

Current State of Montana RN licensure (required)
BLS and ACLS certifications (required)
Recent experience in critical care nursing and practice in an advanced medical/surgical unit (required)
PALS, EPNC, TNCC certifications (preferred)
Comfort and competence with ventilatory support, central lines, chest tubes, and complex IV management
Strong clinical leadership and precepting experience

Education

Graduate of a nursing program (degree from an accredited nursing program required)
