Roles & Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality respiratory care during night shifts, providing direct patient interventions and monitoring
• Manage ventilators and perform respiratory therapy treatments safely and effectively
• Assess respiratory status, interpret ABGs, and adjust therapies in collaboration with the care team
• Document treatments, patient responses, and care plans clearly and promptly
• Collaborate with nurses, physicians, and other allied health professionals to optimize patient outcomes
• Educate patients and families on respiratory care plans and home care needs
• Maintain and troubleshoot respiratory equipment to ensure safety and readiness

Qualifications

• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential required
• Minimum 2 years of respiratory therapy experience (as listed in the posting)
• Ability to meet facility licensure requirements (ability to obtain Tennessee licensure if required)
• Strong clinical assessment skills and experience with ventilator management
• Reliable professional with strong communication and teamwork abilities

Education

• Associate's degree in Respiratory Therapy or equivalent (typical educational path for RRTs)

Knowledge & Skills

• Ventilator management and respiratory device competency
• ABG interpretation and arterial blood sampling knowledge
• Airway management and patient assessment skills
• Strong critical thinking and clinical decision-making
• Accurate clinical documentation and electronic charting familiarity
• Comfort working independently overnight and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams
