Roles & Responsibilities

Evaluate patients' functional abilities and limitations using evidence-based assessment methods to create meaningful therapy goals
Develop and implement individualized treatment plans focused on maximizing independence and daily living skills
Apply therapeutic procedures and assistive devices to improve patient outcomes and safety across home and community environments
Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and the rehabilitation team to coordinate patient care and document progress
Educate patients and caregivers on adaptive techniques, home programs, and effective use of assistive equipment
Maintain compliance with the California State Practice Act and facility policies while documenting accurate, timely clinical records

Qualifications

Current California Occupational Therapist License (required)
Bachelor of Science degree in Occupational Therapy (required)
Knowledge of State Practice Act and experience following physician orders for evaluation and treatment
Strong clinical reasoning, patient-centered communication, and the ability to work within a rehabilitation team

Bachelor of Science in Occupational Therapy

Occupational Therapy assessment and treatment planning
Patient evaluation and therapeutic interventions
Use of assistive devices and adaptive equipment
Documentation and compliance with State Practice Act
Interdisciplinary collaboration and patient/caregiver education
